Highlights:
Deoria Tal is a lake about 3 km from the villages of Sari on the Ukhimath-Chopta road in Uttarakhand. At an altitude of 2,438 meters (7,999 ft), it has heavily wooded, lush green surroundings with snow-covered mountains. Tungnath and Chandrashila treks are one of the most popular treks among Indian trekking enthusiasts. The trek to the peak is 10 km. The trek route that starts from Chopta takes one to Tungnath (highest Shiva temple in the World), from here it is a kilometer long, and a steep trek. Though shorter in distance, steep climbing makes this trek rigorous.
Day 01: Haridwar – Sari Village (220 KM) 6-7 hours
ITM Holidays representative will meet you at Haridwar, Our representative will explain the tour scheduled in detail and handover all the tour related documents to you. Later straight drive to Sari. Enroute visit Devprayag (Confluence of Alaknanda & Bhagirathi and Rudraprayag (Confluence of Alaknanda & Mandakini River). Evening reached Sari, check in your Homestay / Guest house. Overnight stay at the Sari Village.
Day 02: Sari Village – Deoria Tal (2438 m / 7999 ft) Trek/4-5 hrs
Morning after breakfast, our trek will begin with a walk through a few villages. Deoria tal is a beautiful lake amidst thick forest, abundant in bird life. The reflection of Chaukhamba peaks in the lake is notable for photography enthusiasts. After a hike, we will reach Deoriatal Lake by afternoon, Evening enjoy the bonfire with local traditional food. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 03: Deoriatal (2438m) – Chopta (2800m) Trek/4-5 hrs
Early Morning to see the panoramic view of GOLDEN HIMALAYA and the reflection of the Himalaya in the lake. After breakfast and return to Sari Village to start your journey to Chopta. En-route visit mixed forests with oaks, pines, rhododendrons, lush meadows and dense woods will stand as the main highlight. On arrival Chopta check in at your pre-booked camp. Chopta is famous for its undulating meadows and views of the snow clad Himalayan ranges and lies inside a reserved forest region. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 04: Chopta (2800m) – Tungnath (3680m) – Chandrashila peak (4000m) – Chopta / Trek/4-5 hrs & Drive/1 hr
Early morning after breakfast and start your journey to Tungnath. Tungnath temple is an uphill battle as it stands at an altitude of 3680 meters from the sea level (the highest temple in India). It’s one of the most beautifully situated temples with big mountain ranges right in front and shining meadows all around. This temple has very interesting architecture and rich history behind it. After that, start your trek to Chandrashilla peak,which rests at an altitude of 4000 m. The view from the summit is outstanding with one getting almost a 360 view of Himalayan ranges. Many of the famous summits like Chaukhamba, Nanda Devi, Neelkanth, Kedarnath & Bandarpoonch are visible from Chandrashila. We will return back to Chopta. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 05: Chopta – Haridwar/Departure
Early morning after breakfast check out from Chopta and drive to Haridwar for onwards journey. The trip ends with extremely fond memories and an experience you will cherish for a life-time.
